Are Mobiles Damaging Your Health?

Wednesday November 5, 2008

The health risks of mobiles have been a concern of many since the inception of the technology. Luckily, most medical studies have demonstrated little to no risk from using mobiles. While there have recently been concerns about the possible effect of mobiles and their radiation on male fertility and some reports indicate that very frequent use of mobiles may have an effect on the eye due to the eye's inability to dissipate heat, the consensus still seems to be that mobiles are reasonably safe to use.

Aside from concerns about radiation, however, there are other health risks to using mobiles. Many people think nothing of using mobiles while driving. DO NOT USE MOBILES WHILE DRIVING. Consider what you are doing at the time, the risk to your own life and the lives of others, and hold off on taking or making calls. Pull off to the side of the road if you need to make a quick call, otherwise wait until you have finished your journey.

Checking mobiles or taking a call while trying to cross the road or walk through a hazardous area such as where construction is going on can also be quite dangerous. Crossing the road takes a few seconds - you can wait that long to look at your mobile phone.
