Shop around for the best deals for mobiles
Thursday April 17, 2008
When choosing what you want in mobiles, you need to think of both the phone itself as well as the plan you'll use. Unfortunately, it can be really difficult to get the best of both worlds if you tend to get new mobiles as part of a package plan. Not every call service provider stocks phones from your favourite brands of mobiles, so it can often be a case of getting the phone you want with a plan that doesn't really suit you. How can you avoid this if you can't afford to buy new mobiles outright, though? You can't, but it may just be your way of thinking that is stopping you from having the money for the phone you want.
Has your current mobile phone really had it? If it's just not in fashion anymore, then you may want to think about being a little untrendy for a while in order to save for the next one. If you're just coming off a contract and will need to sign up again to continue with this same service provider for longer, then you may want to consider switching to a prepaid plan for a little while and restricting your calls.
When you next go into a phone plan, start saving for a new phone right away rather than waiting. To make it harder to just spend the money, open a separate savings account and use it to deposit savings for mobiles as well as your monthly bill payments. This is essentially the same as making payments on a phone in a plan, except that you can choose whichever provider of mobile phone plans that you wish.
