How to choose a ringtone for your mobiles
2 May 2008
Mobiles go off almost anywhere you go, and it's not just you who has to listen to your ringtone. To help avoid your phone being a nuisance to everyone around, try following this guide when picking a ringtone.
Step 1. Make sure it lasts longer than 15 second before it repeating
This may seem designed to ensure only songs can be used as ringtones, but that's just because it was designed to ensure only songs can be used as ringtones. No constantly repeating ringtones unless you very rarely receive calls on your mobile phone.
Step 2. Use only a polyphonic ringtone or better
There was a reason people hated hearing mobiles go off ten years ago. They were all monophonic and very annoying. If your mobiles only have monophonic ringtones, it's time to upgrade.
Step 3. Know your ringtone
Everybody hates the person who leaves a mobile phone going for a minute and the suddenly says, 'Oh yeah! That's me!' For the sake of everyone's sanity, remember the ringtone you chose for your mobiles.
