Will Google mobiles top the iPhone?
29 September 2008
Mobiles seem to have become the current battleground for major technology players, with many companies setting up their own mobile phone brands. For instance, we now have Apple mobiles with the Apple iPhone features seemingly setting a new standard in mobile phone design, and soon we will have the Google G1 mobile phone.
The Google G1 mobile phone has been created in a partnership between Google and HTC as a smartphone that leaves much of the competition dead in the water. Using Google's Android operating system, a competitor against the very widespread Windows Mobile, the Google G1 mobile phone provides users with many options for customisation. Downloaded applications allow each user to create a unique mobile phone experience, much like what is available with the Apple iPhone and is looking to become the standard for future mobiles. With a touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard as part of the Google G1 mobile phone, there are many input options that applications will be able to take advantage of to create some very unique experiences.
