Monday February 9, 2009
The T-Mobile G1, also known as the HTC Dream mobile phone, has been pegged for an Australian release in February after Optus secured exclusive sales rights. The T-Mobile G1 mobile phones have been selling in the US since October 2008 and they have received high-quality recognition, including Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2008 list.
The HTC Dream mobile phone runs on a Google Android operating system, and it boasts one-touch access to Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Talk and Google Calendar. It's not hard to guess that high-speed internet capability and a QWERTY keypad are also included on the phone's feature list.
A 3.2in LCD touch screen also increases usability, and you can expect a whole host of built-in technology such as multimedia applications. 3.2MP camera and Wi-Fi access. The HTC Dream mobile phone certainly seems like a lot to get excited about.
As mentioned, Optus has secured exclusive sales right to the phone and reports have indicated the phone will be available sometime this February. The price is yet to be confirmed, but you can expect this smartphone to be competitively priced for the market and a valid contender to the iPhone.
