iPhone 3.0 Gears For Launch
Friday June 5, 2009
The suggested release of the new iPhone 3.0 operating system to the general public has long been expected to coincide with the Worldwide Developers Conference that runs from 8th-12th of June. Apple has given the 3.0 OS to developers since March this year, but although it hasn't been available easily for everyone else yet, that is all expected to change.
The new operating system is expected to be available to all iPhone owners as a free download from the Apple website. This is great news for iPhone users who are almost getting the benefits of a new phone for no cost. However, if you believe the rumour mill, the Developers Conference will probably see us heading to the stores soon for a brand new updated iPhone anyway.
Dubbed by Apple as the 'next version of the world's most advanced mobile platform', the new iPhone operating system is expected to deliver about 100 new features for iPhone users, and according to our sources, some of them are pretty swish. For example, there is the much-touted cut and paste function, greater ability to send files and plenty of little tricks and traps to keep you busy.
Some other much-anticipated features include landscape ability for many applications (including email) and turn-by-turn GPS. Improved search functions, shake to shuffle - the additions range from the trivial to the tumultuous. Keep an eye out for more over the coming week, and see Apple for the new iPhone 3.0 download.
